Compassion is the key towards the practice of counselling in whatever approaches depicted in the profession. Compassion is embedded in Ihsan being an elemental pillar in the act of empathy. Ihsan connotes the duty to do things that are beautiful in acts of behaviours, incorporating the thoughts of completion in perfection and excellence. In the Islamic context, Ihsan is in reference to the ever presence of Allah SWT throughout the macrocosmic universe and in whatever we as humans does microcosmically. Ihsan is the precursor of positiveness wherein good intentions, optimism and thinking well of others prevails. The idiom on Husnu al Zann conceptualized the meaningful favourable perceptions of pivoting positive inclusivity in whatever an individual project in life. In the realm of Ihsan is embedded the acquisition of skills, knowledge and the needs of empowering others with good virtuous models. Ihsan depicts the positive act in whatever an individual is doing. The acts of Ihsan is achievable through the essence of Futuwwah being the wisdom of the multiple positive values in the pursuit of altruism. Futuwwah provides for the deep sense of bringing out the positive characters of individuals. This is the counsellors’ positive act of empathy crossing religion, language, race, denominations or sects. The essence of the counselling process is embedded in the positive acceptance of the clientele through the undertaking of hikmah, wisdom of the counsellor.
