President
International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance
Professor Jaana Kettunen is a Researcher Professor at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research of the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Her research that has a strong international orientation revolves around career guidance practice and public policy development with a special interest on the design and use of information and communication technology in career guidance. Her work is both theoretical and practical. It focuses on empowering practitioners to be more effective in supporting the career development of individuals and groups by contributing to practitioners’ knowledge, skills, and standards of practice.
As technological advances, including artificial intelligence (AI), change how individuals explore and acquire information about education, training and work opportunities, there is a pressing need to align career services and associated professional practices with these new technologies. The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) further accelerates this shift. Digitalisation, AI, and digital transformation offer considerable opportunities, but they also necessitate rethinking our approach to services and ensuring that practitioners are equipped with the competencies they need in this context.
